Arsenal to tempt Balotelli with huge contract offer

Arsenal will look to tempt Milan striker Mario Balotelli to move to North London by offering him a contract worth £180,000 per week, according to the Metro.

Balotelli has been heavily linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, with the Gunners actively looking for a new striker to help provide competition and support to Olivier Giroud, who is their only real option for the centre-forward role.

The Italian looks set to leave Milan this summer after scoring a respectable 30 goals in 54 appearances in a side that has struggled over the past couple of seasons. On Tuesday, his agent revealed that a £27m move to the Emirates Stadium could take place for his client this summer.

No such deal will be completed until after the World Cup, however, with Arsenal having already drawn up a potential contract which would see Balotelli become one of the highest paid players in English football. No formal approach has yet been made by the FA Cup holders, but Balotelli is thought to be open to a move.
