New Man City contract for Nasri
According to The Daily Star, midfielder Samir Nasri is set to sign a new Manchester City contract worth £180,000 a week.
The 26-year-old star joined City from Arsenal in 2011, and is now reportedly ready to commit his future to the Blues until 2019. The French midfielder is currently on holiday but is said to be likely to put pen to paper on his return.
Nasri played a key role in City’s successful 2013/14 season, making 46 appearances in all competitions as the Blues lifted the Premier League title. He also scored the go-ahead goal against Sunderland at Wembley as City won the Capital One Cup for the first time since 1976.
Nasri was controversially left out of his country’s World Cup squad, despite playing a significant role in their qualification, scoring a vital goal to give Les Bleus the lead in a victory in Belarus which helped secure a play-off place. But he was then dropped to the bench for the second leg of the play-off tie with Ukraine following the poor defeat in the first leg in Kiev.
