Arsenal boss Wenger to meet Balotelli agent

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is set to meet the agent of Milan striker Mario Balotelli in Brazil over the coming days to discuss a deal for the 24-year-old, according to the Daily Star.

Mario Balotelli

Balotelli has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over recent weeks, with rumours that he is set to leave Milan, for whom he has scored 30 goals in 54 appearances since joining from Manchester City in January 2013. The Italian is reportedly keen on a move back to the Premier League.

Wenger has set his sights on bringing in a striker this summer to provide competition and support to current first choice centre forward Olivier Giroud. Milan’s asking price has been in the region of £25m, and now the Frenchman is discussing a potential contract with Balotelli’s agent, Mino Raiola.

Raiola is hoping to secure a deal worth £150,000 per week for his client, and despite being the centre of attention for his off-the-field behaviour in the past, former Gunners midfielder Ray Parlour believes Wenger can handle Balotelli. “Arsene is a very good man- manager and if you have any sort of problem he’s easy to go and see,” said Parlour.
