Arsenal ‘agree terms with Aurier’
According to reports in France, Arsenal have agreed an £8m fee with Toulouse over the transfer of right-back Serge Aurier, writes the Daily Star.
The Ivory Coast man has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over recent months, having shown promise in Ligue 1. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been looking for a new right-back to replace Bacary Sagna, who recently joined Manchester City after seven years at the club.
French newspaper L’Equipe claim that Aurier has been offered a five-year contract at Arsenal worth £60,000 per week, with the player having admitted in May that it was his dream to play for Arsenal, and that he would not be able to turn them down should they show interest.
Aurier, who has impressed in both of the Ivory Coast’s games at the World Cup in Brazil, has been with Toulouse for two and-a-half years, and has made 80 appearances, scoring eight goals. His signing could be the catalyst for a Gunners spending spree this summer, with Wenger looking to re-establish the club as serious title contenders.
