Chelsea not looking to loan out Lukaku
The agent of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed that the club are not looking to loan out his client for a third consecutive season, the Daily Express has reported.
Lukaku has scored an impressive 33 goals in loan spells with West Bromwich Albion and Everton over the previous two seasons, but since his time at Goodison Park came to an end, questions have been raised over his future at Chelsea, which is set to be decided once he returns from the World Cup in Brazil.
Several clubs are rumoured to be interested in the 21-year-old, with doubts over Blues boss Jose Mourinho’s willingness to keep Lukaku at the club. Italian champions Juventus are among those linked, as well as Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham. Everton are also keen on signing the Belgian on a permanent basis.
And his agent, Oscar Damiani Jr, has confirmed that Chelsea are not eyeing another loan move for Lukaku. He said: "Chelsea doesn't want to loan him out. He has two years left on his contract and we would normally look at extending it shortly.
"Did I see him after the match against Russia? Yeah, he was pretty quiet but he is a player who doesn't have anything to prove. Of course, the World Cup is the World Cup. I'm sure he'll bounce back in the next game."
