Snodgrass set for Hull switch

Norwich City have accepted an offer from Hull City for Scottish winger Robert Snodgrass, according to Sky Sports.

Robert Snodgrass

Scottish international Snodgrass has stated his desire to remain in the Premier League after the Canaries were relegated at the end of the 2013/14 season, and a move to Humberside would enable him to fulfil that wish.

Snodgrass currently has a year remaining on his Carrow Road contract, but has already indicated that he does not intend to extend the agreement. As such, a move now would be beneficial to all parties, enabling Norwich to receive a fee for the player rather than see him walk away for free next summer.

The 26-year-old Glaswegian joined Norwich from Leeds United for £3 million in 2012, and went on to play a key role for the Canaries. He scored 6 goals in their ultimately unsuccessful bid for Premier League survival last year. He also has 15 caps for Scotland, and scored the opening goal in their memorable World Cup qualifying win over Croatia last October.

After Norwich’s relegation and Snodgrass made public his Premier League aspirations, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers all were rumoured to be interested in his services. However, with the agreement of a transfer fee it seems Hull is most likely to be his destination.
