Mourinho: Hazard is magic

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has paid tribute to Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard, ESPN has reported.

Jose Mourinho and Eden Hazard

The Portuguese has said that his side are packed with fighters but it is Hazard who he and the supporters look to as the team’s creative inspiration. “I understand this beauty and these magic moments he [Hazard] brings to the game are what the fans enjoy the most,” Mourinho said.

“Obviously the fans enjoy and respect people like Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, John Terry - people that are so stable during the season and do an incredible job for the team - but people like Eden bring the magic and win matches in one action,” he continued. “They have the flair and the artist's touch of the football.”

Chelsea finished the season in third place, four points behind title winners Manchester City. Hazard, on a personal level, claimed 17 goals in 49 games in his second season at Stamford Bridge - his first delivered 13 goals in 62 appearances. He has also helped Belgium to the knockout rounds of the World Cup.
