Balotelli ‘prepared to force through Arsenal move’

Milan striker Mario Balotelli is reportedly ready to force through a move to Arsenal, with the 23-year-old intent on leaving Italy again this summer, writes the Metro.

Mario Balotelli

Balotelli feels that he has been made a scapegoat after Italy’s exit at the group stage of the World Cup, and has no desire to ply his trade in Serie A next season. Arsenal have been interested in the player in recent weeks, and he is looking to capitalise by making Milan aware that he is looking to leave.

Arsenal have set their sights on signing a striker during the transfer window, with Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo the only two recognised strikers available to Arsene Wenger, who is looking to add depth as well as competition to his squad.

Balotelli is not their only reported target, with Barceona’s Alexis Sanchez and FC Porto star Jackson Martinez among those linked with the North London club.

The former Manchester City player has been at Milan since January 2013, whom he joined after a tumultuous two and-a-half years at the Etihad Stadium. He has since gone on to score 30 goals in 54 appearances for a struggling side.
