Man Utd handed Vidal boost
Manchester United have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, with the Chilean having set his sights on a move to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Star.
A large number of top European clubs are said to be interested in signing Vidal, with European champions Real Madrid, French runners-up Monaco, and Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea all in the race to sign the 28-year-old, who is looking likely to leave Turin after helping Juventus to three successive Serie A titles.
Despite all the other clubs offering Vidal the opportunity to continue playing in the Champions League next season, it now appears that he would prefer a move to Man Utd, with reports in Italy suggesting that he is ready to turn down each of the other clubs an join Louis van Gaal at the Red Devils.
Despite the interest, Juventus are keen to keep the former Bayer Leverkusen star, and may only allow him to speak to other clubs should a huge transfer offer be made, rumoured to be as much as £48m.
