Suarez set to complete Liverpool exit
Luis Suarez’s move from Liverpool to Barcelona is nearing its final stages after the clubs reportedly agreed a whopping £63m fee for the disgraced star, according to the Daily Star.
After talks started last week of a possible transfer for the Uruguayan hit it looks likely that he will now be on his way to the Nou Camp – despite his nine international match and four month world wide ban for biting Georgio Chiellini.
An announcement could be expected as early as next week on a deal that will see the striker net an enormous £9.5m a year on a five year deal.
Liverpool had been hoping for a fee around £80m but a deal has been agreed with what appears to be a lower fee after the club felt his position at Anfield had become untenable with his latest scandal – this is the third time Suarez has bitten in his career, while also found guilty of racial abuse.
This has not put off new Barcelona boss Luis Enrique however, who seems to be unable to resist a potential front line of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Suarez next season as he rebuilds the club’s squad.
The clubs are now negotiating how Liverpool’s club record sale will be paid with the Catalan giants keen to pay in instalments, while the Reds want the majority of the money as a lump sum – stalling any formal announcement of the deal.
