Juventus have told Manchester United that they want £45m along with winger Luis Nani to be forced to sell midfielder Arturo Vidal to the Old Trafford club, according to the Daily Star.

Old Trafford

Man Utd are said to be one if three Premier League sides chasing Vidal, with Arsenal and Chelsea having registered an interest. New United boss Louis van Gaal is known to be a huge admirer of the Chilean, after the failed in an attempt to sign him while manager of Bayern Munich.

Recent reports in Italy had suggested that the Red Devils were preparing a bid of around £30m, but the Turin side were unwilling to except that fee, for a midfielder that has helped them win the Serie A title for three consecutive seasons since he joined from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011.

The new asking price of £45m could put off Man Utd, who have already spent around £60m already this summer to fund deals for Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw. Juventus also want Nani to be included in the deal.

The Portugal man has been at Man Utd for seven years, but has had a frustrating time over the past few seasons, seeing his first-team opportunities severely limited. He could be open to a move in order to gain more regular football, although he still has three years left on his contract.
