Spurs end Cambiasso interest
Tottenham are reported to have ended their interest in any potential move for Esteban Cambiasso, according to the Daily Star, after reports suggested that they would make an offer to the free agent.
Cambiasso saw his contract expire at Inter Milan after ten years at the Italian giants which saw him claim five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italias and a Champions League.
Reports have claimed recently that new Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was targeting the 33-year-old as his first signing at White Hart Lane – but StarSport sources now believe they have no interest in the Argentinean.
The midfielder turns 34 next month and has been considered too old to be made a primary target, and Pochettino will turn his attention to other players.
Cambiasso is probably best known for scoring what is considered as one of the best goals in World Cup history – applying the finish to a 25 pass move from Argentina during their 6-0 victory over Serbia and Montenegro at the 2006 World Cup.
He has been capped 52 times by his country but has failed to make an appearance since 2011.
