Man City to sign Malaga 'keeper
Manchester City are set to sign Malaga shot stopper Willy Caballero as they look to provide cover and back up to current first choice Joe Hart, the BBC is reporting.
The two clubs are said to be in advanced talks over the keeper, with BBC Sport learning that the player was in Manchester ahead of a deal club officials hope to seal in the coming days.
City had lost their covering goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon on a free transfer to Premier League club Sunderland and were looking for a replacement number two.
And it looks like 32-year-old Caballero is on his way to the Etihad Stadium where he will again link up with manager Manuel Pellegrini.
The Argentinean played under the Chilean boss during his three years as Malaga manager from 2010 to 2013 and he has returned to swoop for the keeper.
He in fact was named goalkeeper of the year during the 2012-2013 season, Pellegrini’s last season in charge of the Spanish club.
In total he has represented the Spaniards 117 times since joining from fellow Spanish club Elche in 2011.
