Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva could well be on his way out of Liverpool after sparking a rumour mill himself by removing the club from his Twitter page bio, the Daily Star is reporting.

Reports had begun to surface that the player faced an uncertain future and Italian media are claiming that Inter Milan and Napoli are ready to swoop.

While the Reds are yet to have received contact about the player it is believed Brendan Rodgers would be willing to let the holding midfielder go, who has made 243 appearances for the club since joining in 2007.

Rodgers is currently reinventing his squad and the arrival of another midfielder in Emre Can has pushed the Brazilian further down the pecking order.

He has struggled with repeated injuries for the past three seasons and despite managing 29 appearances last term he could be playing his football away from Anfield come the start of the season.

Inter are thought to be lining up a straight cash bid for the player while Napoli are thought to want a loan with a view to a permanent move.

Lucas did report to the start of pre season training this week but it remains unclear whether he will be jetting off to America on their pre season tour.
