Arsenal target Alexis Sanchez is in London to undergo a medical ahead of his move to the Gunners from Barcelona, according to the Daily Telegraph.

A fee of £30m is mooted for the Chile international and the transfer could be confirmed as soon as Thursday, if the formalities can be completed. Sanchez is expected to be joined at the Emirates Stadium by Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy.

Arsenal have won the signature of Sanchez despite interest from Liverpool and Juventus, with manager Arsene Wenger said to have spoken to the 25-year-old in a bid to persuade him to go to the capital.

The likes of Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender are said to be on Wenger’s shortlist as well, as is a goalkeeper, after Lukasz Fabianski moved to Swansea City, while a bid for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira depends on the Germany international’s wage demands.

Sanchez has been a Barca player since a 2011 move from Serie A side Udinese. He made 141 appearances for the Catalans, scoring 47 goals, and winning the league, Spanish Cup and Club World cup, among a handful of other trophies.
