Arsenal keen to complete Remy signing
Arsenal have been in talks with Queens Park Rangers over a possible £8m deal for their striker Loic Remy, according to the Independent.
The two clubs have reportedly opened talks in recent days, with Arsenal having long been linked with a move for the Frenchman. Manager Arsene Wenger is also an admirer of the player, who is looking to leave Loftus Road this summer in favour of a move to club participating in next season’s Champions League.
Remy initially joined QPR in January 2013, but was unable to keep the club in the Premier League that season. He then spent last season on loan at Newcastle United and scored an impressive 14 Premier League goals, ensuring he was the Magpies’ top scorer. His efforts helped them to a top half finish.
He has since returned to QPR, and although owner Tony Fernandes is keen to keep him at the club after their promotion back to the top-flight, a move elsewhere does appear to be on the cards. Personal terms are still to be agreed with Arsenal, but there remains a good chance that he will be joining Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates Stadium.
