Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has moved to dismiss rumours that he is set to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer, Talksport has reported.

There has recently been speculation that Arteta was looking to move on, but speaking at the launch of the club’s new kit, the Spaniard insisted that his future lay with Arsene Wenger’s side. He said: “I can’t stop the rumours, but what I am certain is that I’m really happy here.

‘I feel valued, I have been given a lot of responsibility and I like it. Until they think something different about me, I’m happy. I had a conversation with the manager. He knows my opinion and we’re fine”

Arteta, who has been at the club for three seasons and helped them win the FA Cup last season, was also delighted with the signing of Alexis Sanchez, adding: “I met him this morning and he looked excited.

‘He had many options and he decided to join us which makes us very proud. He likes the sound of the Arsenal and I’m excited by his arrival. They have convinced him to come and I can’t wait to see him play."
