Toure agent in award race claim

The agent of Manchester City star Yaya Toure has claimed that his player would have scooped one of the World’s top footballing awards by now ‘if he had been white’, according to the Daily Mail.

Yaya Toure

Dmitri Seluk has made the claim in reference to Toure only finishing third in the PFA player of the year awards at the end of last season, after he scored 20 goals in 35 games to push City to reclaiming the title.

The statement echoes that of his client who also said in April he would have gained more recognition as a footballer if he wasn’t from Africa, while also believing there was little reaction to Ivory Coast’s exit from the World Cup – again because they were African.

Seluk said: “If he (Toure) was white, 100 per cent he would have won one of these top awards. I don’t want to talk too much about racism or the politics of football, but he does not get the praise he should get. Yaya has three times in a row won the African Player of the Year, but it is different with the other awards.”

This isn’t the first controversy surrounding Toure this summer either.

Toure’s younger brother sadly passed away during the World Cup, and claimed that City had refused to grant him compassionate leave to visit his dying sibling before the World Cup – something the club has denied.

In May another storm was kicked up by the player after he was left bemused when City did not recognise his birthday and was left feeling disrespected by the club.

Many critics have claimed the player is trying to fashion a move away from the Etihad Stadium and agent Seluk has said if a big European club offer came in it would be seriously considered.

If Dmitri Seluk the slimey agent of Toure had half a brain he would know that every time he opens his extremely big gob and spouts garbage he is damaging his clients prospects further. All that you need to know is that Toure has three years left on his contract and he will do what City want not what the Russian slime ball wants.

The agent is an absolute pilchard. It's nothing to do with colour, it's to do with City! Now that's shocked you hasn't it? Let's look at the evidence - Yaya scored a phenomenal amount of goals (some were 'top drawer'), unfortunately he plays for City! Pelegrini, in his first season in England win the League and League cup but doesn't win manager of the year. Why? You've got it, the City connection! How did Rodgers win manager of the year whilst finishing second? You tell me. It's a deep seated conspiracy I tell you.
