Juventus line up £20m Paulinho bid

Juventus are preparing an offer of £20m for Tottenham and Brazil midfielder Paulinho in a move which could pave the way for Arturo Vidal to leave for Manchester United, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Man Utd insist that no deal for Vidal is close to being done, but Juventus are said to be resigned to losing the Chilean, and so have set their sights on a replacement. They feel that they can tempt Tottenham into selling Paulinho, who is set to return from representing his country at the World Cup.

However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is unwilling to accept any offers below £25m for a player that he paid £17m for last summer. Paulinho was an inconsistent performer in his first season in the Premier League, and struggled to earn a first team place once Tim Sherwood replaced Andre Villas Boas as Head Coach.

The 25-year-old has previously insisted that he is happy at White Hart Lane, but he might view the chance to play in the Champions League as an attractive option. As for Vidal, Juventus are looking for at least £30m from Man Utd, who are hoping to pair him with fellow summer signing Ander Herrera.

Paulinho is one of the worst players in Spurs history. He is not worth 1 million let alone the figures that have been mentioned. Spurs were mugs to buy him. What a farce it has become.
