Cavani keen on Premier League move
Paris St. Germain striker Edinson Cavani has instructed his agent to explore the possibility of a potential move to the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.
Cavani only moved to the French capital from Napoli last summer on a five year contract for a massive £55m transfer fee, but after helping PSG to the Ligue 1 title by scoring 16 goals in 30 outings, he now appears keen on a move elsewhere.
Chelsea, who have already signed Atletico Madrid front-man Diego Costa this summer, have been long-term admirers of the Uruguayan, and this latest development may encourage them to revive their interest. Manchester United may also be keen on making an offer for the 27-year-old.
It is thought that Cavani has become unhappy with the way he has been deployed at PSG, with manager Laurent Blanc often playing him in a wide position in order for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to play through the middle, which is Cavani’s preferred role.
And while he was at the World Cup, he refused to rule out the possibility of joining Man Utd. When questioned on the subject, he said: “In football, you never know. Anything can happen. One day you are in one team and, the next day, you can be in another."
