Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is hold talks with the club over his future, after a series of disputes between the two parties since the end of last season, the Guardian has reported.

The talks will be conducted ahead of Man City’s second match of their tour of United States, against Milan in Pittsburgh, once Toure returns from holiday. On the agenda will be the off-message comments throughout the summer which have appeared to suggest that the Ivorian was looking to leave the Etihad Stadium, or was hoping for an improved contract.

They began when his agent, Dimitry Seluk, claimed that Toure had not been given proper recognition by the club’s owners on his birthday, something which was backed up by the player on Twitter.

Toure then claimed that City had not given him compassionate leave to visit his brother, who eventually passed away while he was away at the World Cup. The Premier League champions dispute the allegation. In recent days, Seluk has stated his belief that Toure would have won more awards if he was white.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to settle the issue quickly to avoid a prolonged dispute, although City are adamant that Toure will not be leaving this summer.
