Barcelona give Krkic Stoke decision deadline
Spanish forward Bojan Krkić has been given until tomorrow to decide whether or not he wants to spend the 2014/15 season in the Premier League with Stoke City, reports The Daily Star.
The 23-year-old Spanish international held discussions with Potters boss Mark Hughes last week regarding a year-long loan deal, but has yet to make a decision over the move.
But Barcelona are now demanding that he decides where his future lies by the end of the week, with sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta saying: "Bojan knows the situation. It is best for him and the club that it is resolved as soon as possible."
It is reported that Barca’s newly promoted La Liga rivals Deportivo de La Coruña could also be interested in Bojan’s services, and Liverpool were also linked with the player earlier in the summer, but the Stoke deal is the only firm offer that has been received.
As a teenager Bojan was hotly tipped to become a superstar, and a strike against Villareal in his first starting appearance in La Liga for Barcelona made him the club’s youngest ever league goalscorer. However, his career at Camp Nou stalled and he spent two years in Italy with Roma and AC Milan.
Bojan returned to Barcelona but was loaned to Ajax for the 2013/14 season, where after scoring just 5 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions, the Amsterdam outfit decided not to take up the option of loaning the forward for a second year.
