Deulofeu ‘learned a lot’ at Everton
Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu has spoken of his happiness at having spent last season in the Premier League with Everton, according to Football Espana.
Deulofeu moved to Goodison Park on loan last summer, playing 29 times in all competitions and scoring four goals. He has now returned to Camp Nou and is part of new Coach Luis Enrique’s plans for the coming campaign.
The 20-year-old has spoken at a Press conference ahead of the new season and reflected on his time in the charge of Everton manager Roberto Martinez. “I learned a lot [at Everton] and I’m looking forward,” Deulofeu said.
“I really enjoyed it at Everton and I am left with the feeling of having played a few minutes,” he continued. “In England I improved my physical side and on the defensive. I’m glad I spent a year at Everton.”
Deulofeu’s form was rewarded with a first Spain cap at the end of the season when he was given a run-out in a pre-World Cup friendly against Bolivia.
Prior to moving to Everton Deulofeu had made only four appearances for the Barca senior side, having played most of his career with Barca B.
