Drogba Chelsea return edges closer
Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has moved a step closer to agreeing a sensational return to Stamford Bridge after he text his old teammates to hint at his possible arrival, the Daily Mail.
Having left Galatasaray at the end of his contract Drogba has been drawing interest from sides in Qatar as well as Italian giants Juventus.
However he has a strong relationship with Blues boss Jose Mourinho since signing for him back in 2004 and this could go a long way to sealing a player-coach deal.
The 36-year-old has even texted former teammates to speak about a possible return.
Mourinho will be keen to utilise the vast experience his former charge possesses and even though he has been moving to reduce the age of his playing staff, recognises Drogba could have a significant impact both on and off the pitch.
Chelsea have seen Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o leave the club, and while they have sealed a move for Diego Costa would be left short of options in attack with the future of Romelu Lukaku still unresolved – despite returning to the club from his loan spell at Everton.
