Tottenham complete signings of Davies and Vorm
Tottenham have completed the signings of Swansea City duo Ben Davies and Michel Vorm, while Gylfi Sigurdsson has moved in the opposite direction, BBC Sport has reported.
Youngster Davies arrives having established himself as a first-team regular in South Wales over the past two seasons, performing consistently well at left-back after being given his chance early on by former boss Michael Laudrup. He has signed a five-year deal with Spurs, ending weeks of speculation that he was headed for White Hart Lane.
Upon completing the move, the Welshman said: "I had never thought or wanted to leave Swansea, but an opportunity like this doesn't come up often in your career."
Goalkeeper Vorm has been a key figure in establishing Swansea in the Premier League, having joined soon after their promotion in 2011. The 30-year-old has signed a four-year contract with Tottenham and will provide competition to Hugo Lloris to play in goal. He made one brief substitute appearance for the Netherlands at the World Cup.
After two years at Tottenham, Sigurdsson heads back to the Liberty Stadium, where he scored seven goals in a hugely productive loan spell in the second half of the 2011-12 season. He scored eight times in 58 appearances for the North London club, for whom he never tied down a regular starting spot.
The Icelander said of the move: "It was tough leaving a club that I've enjoyed playing for over the last few years, but as soon as Swansea came in it was an easy decision to make."
