Man Utd monitoring striker Depay
Manchester United are monitoring PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay and could make a move to sign the 20-year-old this summer, according to the Metro.
New Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal knows Depay well, having recently managed him at the World Cup in Brazil. Mainly used as a substitute for the Netherlands, Depay scored goals in group matches against Australia and Chile, and as a result of those impressive displays, van Gaal is apparently keen to bring him to Old Trafford.
Should Depay end up leaving Einhoven for Man Utd, he is likely to be sent back out on loan in order to continue his development, rather than compete with the likes of Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and international teammate Robin van Persie for a starting place.
Depay, who can also play as a left winger, has spent his whole career so far at PSV, breaking into their first team at the beginning of the 2012-13 season. He has since gone on to make 84 appearances for the club, contributing a creditable 22 goals and 21 assists.
