Ajax utility player Daley Blind is expected to leave the club in the coming weeks amid considerable interest from Manchester United, the Daily Mail has reported.

With his versatility and creativity, Blind has been installed as one of Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal’s main summer transfer targets, with the duo having worked together with the Dutch national team. Barcelona are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old, who can either play as a left-back or in a holding midfield role.

He now looks highly likely to leave the Dutch champions, however, as he has been made to train alone since arriving back to pre-season training following the World Cup. Ajax youth coach Richard Witschge said: 'I think Daley Blind will be leaving soon. I have a feeling. He has been training by himself. I think he has done that because there's something going on.'

Man Utd are hoping to complete a deal for Blind over the coming weeks, while they are also reportedly interested in Roma defender Mehdi Benatia. At present, United’s only senior centre-backs are Jonathan Evans, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling.
