Rodgers reveals no offers for Agger

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has made it clear that the club has not received any offers for defender Daniel Agger, Sky Sports is reporting, despite the wave of speculation about his future this summer.

Daniel Agger

Agger has been linked with a move away from the Reds for several seasons and has remained at Anfield despite the rumours – but could be ready to move following the arrival of Dejan Lovren from Southampton.

A plague of hamstring injuries and a drop in form meant the Dane only managed 16 league starts last season but a host of clubs have been linked to the central defender.

Barcelona finalised their move for Arsenal’s Thomas Vermaelen and it is said that the Gunners see Agger as a possible replacement for the Belgian, while the Spanish club themselves have been repeatedly linked with his services and could still make an approach.

Tottenham Hotspur and former club Brondby have also been linked.

Despite the intense speculation however Rodgers has been quick to state that they have not been made aware of any interest in the player, who is currently still working his way back to full fitness.

He stated: “I've seen some stories on that but, no, we haven't had any enquiries.

“Dan's still getting some work done on his knee, he's been a bit unfortunate since America. He's still getting treatment but we haven't had anything, no offers.”
