Southampton agree £12m Shane Long fee
Southampton have agreed a £12m fee to sign Hull city striker Shane Long, the BBC is reporting.
Long has only been at the KC Stadium since January having signed from West Brom for a rumoured £7m but appears he could be on the move again, with new Saints boss Ronald Koeman eyeing a partnership between him and fellow new striker Graziano Pelle.
Long scored four goals in 15 appearances in Hull colours but impressed with his performances for last year’s Premier League new boys.
During his time at West Brom he scored 22 goals in 87 games but could not be persuaded to stay at the Hawthorns.
But it now seems the Republic of Ireland international could be on his way to his to his fifth senior club of his career and third in the Premier League.
Were Long to complete any move he would represent the sixth signing of a summer of great change for Southampton who have seen six players from their hugely success squad of last season leave, departing in big money moves totalling a potential £97.6m.
The Saints have already completed deals for Ryan Bertrand and Saphir Taider on loan with Fraser Forster, Dusan Tadic and Pelle siging on a permanent basis.
Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren, Callum Chambers, Luke Shaw and Dani Osvaldo have all left in a mass selling by the club, with fans uncertain of what lies ahead this season.
