Tottenham ready to listen to offers for eleven players

Tottenham are willing to listen to offers for up to a staggering 11 players as they try to trim the size of their squad ahead of the new season and anymore potential arrivals, the Telegraph has reported.

Daniel Levy

Spurs currently have a first team squad of 30 players with just 25 allowed to register in the Premier League for a season.

And new boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to streamline his new playing staff by at least five players as he and Daniel Levy continue looking to strengthen the team.

Perhaps the highest profile players who the club are prepared to offload are Aaron Lennon, Andros Townsend and Roberto Soldado – although the Spanish striker is said to be part of Pochettino’s plans for the coming season.

England wingers Lennon and Townsend are unlikely to leave but this hasn’t stopped the club’s willingness to listen – Queens Park Rangers are reportedly interested in Townsend.

Loic Remy, who has been linked with Spurs this summer, could be offered as bait for the England international and could this in turn could lead to the departure of Soldado.

Etienne Capoue and Nacer Chadli, another two of the signings made by Andre Villas Boas just last season, are also on the list of potential candidates to leave whilst the futures of Michael Dawson, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Kyle Naughton, Sandro and Moussa Dembele are all uncertain.

Vlad Chiriches has been linked with a potential departure to Roma but is perhaps the safest of the 11, while Sandro could stay after falling out with former boss Tim Sherwood – even though Villas Boas is keen to take the Brazilian to Zenit St Petersburg.

Levy’s price tags of Dawson and Naughton seem to have scuppered moves to Hull and Swansea respectively, and he reportedly wants £15m for Sandro, £13m for Soldado and £10m for Lennon and Townsend.

The club remain in talks for £17m rated defender Mateo Mussachio, and have already signed Michel Vorm, Ben Davies and Eric Dier this summer.
