Swansea City goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is ready to move on with his career after signing for the Welsh club from Arsenal, Sky Sports has reported.

The Poland international quit the Gunners this summer, signing off with a victorious appearance in the FA Cup final as Arsene Wenger’s side dispatched Hull City in the last of his 78 games for the London club.

Fabianski moved to Arsenal in 2007 but is ready to start afresh at the Liberty Stadium and has no regrets about his time under Wenger. “I have already kind of forgotten about [my time at Arsenal],” he said.

“I had many wonderful years at Arsenal but I am a Swansea City player now and I want to focus on that.”

The 29-year-old added that he hadn’t signed for Swansea assuming he was going to be Coach Garry Monk’s first choice, despite the departure of Michel Vorm to Tottenham Hotspur. “You cannot say that someone has given me the No.1 and that's it,” Fabianski insisted, pointing to the presence of Gerhard Tremmel.

“There is competition at Swansea and it's not as if they’ve said, 'There you go, take it',” he continued. “I have to fight for it. We are competing for the spot, we are pushing each other. I am hoping that I am going to be the starting goalkeeper and that I will play well and I will help the team. That's what it’s about.”

Fabianski made 11 appearances for Arsenal last year but only one in the Premier League, with most of his games coming in the club’s successful FA Cup run.
