Leicester vs Everton - Premier League preview and team news
Leicester City take to the field for their first Premier League fixture since 2004 on Saturday as they welcome top four hopefuls Everton to the East Midlands.
The Foxes were irresistible in the Championship last season as they romped to the title with 102 points. The secret to their success under Nigel Pearson was keeping a settled squad, and building on their strong defence. Wes Morgan and Marcin Wasilewski will again be crucial, but they also appear to have quality going forward with the unpredictable Anthony Knockaert and Leonardo Ulloa, prolific during his 18 months with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The visitors do not come into this in great shape having failed to win any of their pre-season matches, but they arrive with Romelu Lukaku now a permanent member of the squad after forking out £28m on the striker who made such an impact on loan last season. Gareth Barry has also committed his future to Everton, but they may struggle to match the achievements of 2013-14, where they claimed their highest number of Premier League points.
Knockaert misses out for Leicester due to an ankle injury, and Matthew Upson has a thigh problem. Ulloa is set to make his debut, but fellow striker Jamie Vardy is doubtful.
New loan signing Christian Atsu will be assessed by Everton prior to kick-off, with Arouna Kone still some way away from regaining fitness. Lukaku and Belgium international teammate Kevin Mirallas may not feature because of their World Cup commitments, while Seamus Coleman is unlikely to feature.
