Striker Harry Kane has signed a new contract to extend his stay at Tottenham Hotspur, the club have confirmed via their official website.

Harry Kane

The contract represents a five year extension to his previous deal, and will keep Kane at White Hart Lane until 2019.

The 21-year-old striker came through the youth system at Spurs and broadened his experience at various lower levels with loan spells at Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City and Leicester City.

Kane made his senior debut for Tottenham in a Europa League play-off tie with Heart of Midlothian, a match which finished 0-0 with Spurs having already won the first leg 5-0 in Edinburgh. Kane went on to make six Europa League appearances in that campaign, and scored his first European goal in the 4-0 victory over Shamrock Rovers in Dublin.

Kane enjoyed something of a breakthrough season in 2013/14, making 19 appearances in all competitions for Spurs. His form was particularly impressive towards the end of the season, and in April he managed to find the net three times in Premier League games against Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland.

He also has four England under-21 caps, and scored a hat-trick in the European Championship qualifier against San Marino.
