Swansea vs Burnley - Premier League preview and team news

After their superb victory at Old Trafford on opening day, Swansea City will be desperate to make it two wins from two when Burnley make the trip to South Wales.



Some excellent football in attack and a steely defensive display proved enough to spoil the party for Louis van Gaal in his opening match as Manchester United boss, in what was essentially a smash and grab win for the Swans.


Garry Monk saw his game-plan work to perfection, and the return of Gylfi Sigurdsson pay immediate dividends, but they will find themselves disappointed should they not follow up from that performance with another three-point haul.


Burnley were in dreamland on Monday when Scott Arfield gave them the lead against fancied Chelsea, but they then went on to be outclassed. The consolation is that they will not be facing sides of that quality every week, and manager Sean Dyche will be pleased that his team never gave up, but he will be hoping to get off the mark here in what looks certain to be another tricky game.


Leon Britton is still out for Swansea, who could give starts to new boys Bafetimbi Gomis and Jefferson Montero after they both impressed from the bench. Federico Fernandez could play after signing from Napoli on Thursday.


In the absence of Sam Vokes, Burnley are set to continue with Lukas Jutkiewicz alongside Danny Ings in attack. Aside from their Player of the Year for last season, they have no other injury worries.
