Blind: no Man United offer yet
The agent representing Manchester United transfer target Daley Blind says no bid has yet been made for the player’s service, reports The Telegraph.
Blind has been strongly linked with a move from Ajax to Old Trafford in recent weeks, but his agent Rob Jansen has claimed that thus far there has been no contact.
“At this moment Manchester United have not been in touch with me or Ajax about Daley and I'm not sitting here waiting for the call,” said Jansen.
The 24-year-old utility player is well known to new United manager Louis van Gaal from his time as Dutch national team manager, where Blind’s father Danny was also part of the coaching staff.
Blind has accrued 19 caps for the national team since making his international debut in a 1-1 friendly draw with Italy in February 2013. He was an ever present in the recent World Cup in Brazil, and scored one of the Netherlands’ three goals as they thrashed the hosts in the play-off game to claim third place in the tournament.
Blind is one of a number of players being linked with United in what could be a busy final week of the summer transfer window at Old Trafford. Real Madrid’s Angel di Maria is set to join imminently, while Arturo Vidal of Juventus is reportedly also on van Gaal’s radar.
