Wenger planning to keep transfer deals secret
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he is looking to keep all of his transfer dealings before Monday’s deadline ‘as secret as possible’, Sky Sports has reported.
The North London club have already completed deals for Alexis Sanchez, David Ospina, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy this summer, but have been expected to dip into the market again for a striker after Olivier Giroud suffered a broken tibia in the final seconds of the recent 2-2 draw with Everton.
Wenger has now been linked with a move for Monaco star Radamel Falcao, but seems more likely to go on a season-long loan to Real Madrid. Other reports suggest that he is eyeing Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
And the Gunners boss has revealed he will continue looking for deals until the transfer deadline, but hopes to do so in secret. He said: "I will be actively involved on the final day of the window and I will be on alert until the last minute of transfer deadline day.
"If we sign somebody we will inform you. It's very difficult to go into everything and I believe that all of the negotiations have to be as secret as possible. If we sign anyone, even if we sign Falcao, you will be informed."
