Jose Mourinho delivers Champions League for Inter Milan after win over Bayern Munich

A 45-year wait is now over for Inter Milan, as Jose Mourinho masterminded a class act in the final in Madrid. A 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich ended years of jealousy over their city rivals’ European success and completed the treble for the blue and black of Milan.
A brace from Argentina striker Diego Milito was enough to see off the Germans, elevating the former Real Zaragoza man to hero status amongst the travelling hoards of Inter fans. The striker has been in superb form for the Nerazzuri since arriving from Genoa in the summer, scoring vital goals in the league and the winning goal in the Italian Cup.
Last night’s triumph makes Jose Mourinho only the third manager to win the competition with two clubs. He joins Ernst Happel and Ottmar Hitzfeld in earning that remarkable accolade at the age of just 47. However, the Portuguese Tactician seemed to wave goodbye to his fans after seeing his players lift the Champions League trophy. He even took some of the limelight away from his players as he waved to every section of Italian support, whist the players took turns in hoisting the Cup on the Bernabeu stairs.
He is sure to be at the Bernabeu next season replacing Manuel Pellegrino at the most prestigious managerial position in football. The Spanish giants look to Mourinho, as they want the best, and he certainly fits that bill. He told Sky Sports: "Great season, incredible season. But at this moment I have not many words to describe how I feel because it's almost for sure that I will leave." He then all but confirmed his next move: “Real Madrid is the only club that wants me.”
A Coach, who favours a clean-sheet rather than a goal-fest, has left some fans not wanting him to take-over. His defensive approach is a contrast to Madrid’s rich attacking history with the likes of Raul, Alfredo Di Stefano and Zinedine Zidane being legends in the white shirts of Madrid. With the Italians not liking his arrogant style, the Spanish people are certainly looking likely to follow. The semi-final against Barcelona certainly ruffled a few feathers amongst the Catalans and Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola, something which will have a positive effect against some of Mourinho’s doubters at the Bernabeu.
El Classico will also have an added spice to the fixture, something that Barcelona will be wary of, cautious of retaining their dominance over their arch-rivals in recent years. So are we likely to see Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka dropping deep like we saw Samuel Eto’o and Goran Pandev do to dampen the threat of the German champions. Something that the Real pair will not be happy about. One thing is for certain is that the Real Madrid players want to win trophies, something in which Mourinho will duly deliver. The Galacticos will look to welcome the Special One with open arms if their dreams are made, no matter what system is introduced to Castilians.
