Barcelona’s Alexis Sánchez insists he is ready for a full 90 minutes again

Barcelona’s Alexis Sánchez insists he is ready to play 90 minutes again following his lengthy spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury sustained against Real Sociedad in September.
On arrival in Santiago, where he has joined up with the Chilean national squad for their World Cup qualifying games with Uruguay and Paraguay, the 22-year-old said: “I am ready for a full 90 minutes and feel capable of it now that I’m not in pain. I’m happy to be back playing and training, which is what makes me happy.”
Since his return to fitness Sánchez has appeared as a substitute in Barca’s Champions League game with Viktoria Pilsen and last weekend’s league match with Athletic Bilbao and was cheered upon his arrival at Santiago International Airport.
Speaking about the game with Bilbao, now coached by former Chile national team manager Marcelo Bielsa, he commented: “It was very intense. Everybody was very happy with what we did, including my teammates.”
Sánchez was also optimistic about Friday’s game in the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo, saying: “We can make history, as we did before in the last qualifiers, if we carry on playing like we have been doing.”
In the World Cup qualifiers for South Africa 2010 the two matches between Chile and Uruguay finishes in 2-2 and 0-0 draws.
