Miyaichi set to move away from Arsenal on loan

By Bryan Waters

Monday 30 January 2012

Young Arsenal forward Ryo Miyaichi is expected to move away from the Emirates Stadium to build up his first-team experience, Sky Sports reports. The 19 year old is a target for French side Valenciennes, who want to sign him on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Japanese attacker joined Arsenal 12 months ago and spent the second half of last season on loan at Dutch side Feyernoord. His work permit for the Gunners was granted this summer and he has made two substitute appearances in the Carling Cup this season. Miyaichi is highly rated by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and he wants the 19 year old to move on loan to preferably an English side for more experience.

Wenger said after the Aston Villa game on Sunday: 'I will have a chat with him tomorrow and I have a little plan. Oxlade-Chamberlain plays on the flanks now too, so if I can find an opportunity for him to play somewhere I will decide whether to do that tomorrow. It will have to be in England because he will lose the homegrown [status] if he leaves the country.'

French side Valenciennes have held a long interest in Miyaichi and coach Daniel Sanchez is ready to see if a deal can be done today for the 19 year old. No English sides have declared their intentions to loan the Arsenal forward and Wenger may have to decline Valenciennes' interest to keep Miyaichi's work permit.
