Bassong pleased with Wolves switch

By Andy Brunning

Friday 03 February 2012

Sebastian Bassong has admitted that he is happy to swap chasing the Premier League title with Tottenham to battling relegation with Wolves, reports The Daily Mail.

Bassong, 25, joined Spurs from Newcastle in 2009, has seen his opportunities in the first team limited this season, making just five appearances in the Premier League, with four of those coming as a substitute. The centre back is likely to slot straight into the Wolves side for their clash with QPR this weekend, and thinks the loan move is just what his career needs.

“I’ve been chatting with the manager and chairman at Tottenham to see how things stood and whether I would be coming out on loan,” he said. “I think it is a very good move for me. There are some very good players at Tottenham, and they are having a fantastic season, but I just want to try to play football, and I’m hoping that this will be a good place for me to do that.

“We’re in the position here where every game is like a cup final. We’ve got to take each game really seriously and do our best.”

I applaud your enthusiasm Sebastian and hope Mick McCarthy doesn't get you playing an 'alien game' for he has great tendencies to play players out of their normal positions and then drop them hardly ever to be seen again, so good luck!
