Villas-Boas defiant against Mourinho return

By Bryan Waters

Saturday 04 February 2012

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has issued a warning to former manager Jose Mourinho, telling him there is no job at Stamford Bridge for his fellow Portuguese manager, BBC Sport reports. A source close to Mourinho revealed earlier this week that the former Chelsea boss is keen for a return to Stamford Bridge when he leaves Real Madrid.

Mourinho won the Premier League three times whilst at Chelsea, but did not win the Champions League and is eager to change that fact with the Blues. The Madrid boss worked with Villas-Boas during his time at Chelsea and the Blues current manager has slammed the door shut on a return for Mourinho. Villas-Boas moved to Chelsea this summer for a hefty compensation fee, but has seen his side falter at times this season and they are 12 points away from league leaders Manchester City.

Villas-Boas said: 'A manager who makes himself available to return to his beloved England will capture the interest for sure. At the moment, there isn't a vacancy at this club. A manager of Jose's dimension - and the number one in the world - will always be an attractive target for every club, who'll capture the interests of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal and so on. But the Real Madrid manager is not available at the moment, he's tied up to the best club.'

The Chelsea boss is looking to win the Champions League and finds his side in the second round against Napoli later this month, but is concerned about his side's league form. Chelsea face Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and a win for the Blues will see them move to nine points away from second placed United.
