Saha confident of success at Spurs

By Bryan Waters

Saturday 04 February 2012

Louis Saha is convinced he will perform well at Tottenham and it will not take long for him to start scoring regularly for Harry Redknapp's side, The Daily Mail reports. The Frenchman signed from Everton on transfer deadline day and may be thrown into the side against Liverpool on Monday.

Many were surprised with Redknapp's decision to sign Saha at the end of the window, but with the club's forward injury problems, the Spurs boss had to make the move. Jermain Defoe is rated as 'extremely doubtful' for the trip to Anfield, Rafael van der Vaart has a calf problem and Emmanuel Adebayor has a hamstring problem. Saha may start against Liverpool and has been the subject of high praise from Tottenham assistant Kevin Bond after training performances.

The 33 year old has scored only once so far this season and failed to get into the Everton squad regularly before his move to White Hart Lane and is also known for having injury worries throughout his career. Saha is confident he will start to score more goals for his new club and get back into form with a side that are playing great football.

Saha said: 'I like to score goals and I see many opportunities with the midfielders, the wingers, and the way the team plays here, so I just can't wait to get started. It's a very attacking side and they always look for movement of the striker. There is quality everywhere on the pitch, from the goalkeeper to the top. There is so much quality and confidence about the team's play, it's amazing. Adebayor and Van der Vaart are great players so I can't wait to play with them.'
