Modric and Redknapp key for Spurs says Pienaar

By Andy Brunning

Monday 06 February 2012

Steven Pienaar has claimed that Tottenham must keep hold of both manager Harry Redknapp and central midfielder Luka Modric if the recent successes at White Hart Lane are to continue, reports The People.

Speaking after a deadline day loan move to Everton, the South African international said: “It is important they keep hold of Luka because he is driving the team on to play the good football they have been playing all season. Who knows what would happen if he left? It would be a big loss, especially after what happened at the start of the campaign.

“And Harry Redknapp deserves credit for the way the team are playing, and it would be a big blow for them if England were to take him. He has got the best out of the players at the club. No-one at Spurs wants Harry to go.”

Pienaar’s loan move to Everton follows a year at Spurs where he has struggled to break into the first team due to a combination of injuries and falling down the pecking order.

For someone who is still technically a Spurs player Pienaar ain't half shooting his mouth off.
