Dalglish says Suarez should never have been banned

By Bryan Waters

Tuesday 07 February 2012

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has once again stated that striker Luis Suarez should not have missed the eight games he did for racially abusing Patrice Evra, BBC Sport reports. The Reds played out a 0-0 draw with Tottenham at Anfield on Monday night and Suarez came off the bench to rapturous applause from the Anfield crowd.

The Uruguayan came on after 66 minutes and created, as well as having, chances for Liverpool to snatch victory from a resilient Spurs. Suarez had not played for the Reds since Boxing Day, but looked sharp and attracted plenty of praise from his manager. Dalglish still resents the ban that Suarez received and stated that he should not have missed out on so many games, because he did nothing wrong and has nothing to prove.

Dalglish said: 't's fantastic to have him back. He should never have been out in the first place. Luis Suarez doesn't have anything to prove to anyone at Liverpool FC. Every time he gets the ball you think he's going to do something. We don't think he should ever have been away but we are delighted to have him back.'

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney criticised Suarez on Twitter last night for kicking Spurs midfielder Scott Parker in the midriff, which he received a booking for. Rooney believed it was a red card, but the Liverpool boss said he did not have a view on what was tweeted and said that someone should tweet Rooney back their view. Dalglish was happy with the Liverpool performance and a draw was disappointing for him.

If this is nit bringing football into direpute I do not know what it is. If old farts at FA had a spine, they would charge and ban Dalglish himself!!!!

Dalgleash has totally missread the case against Suarez. On his own admission he made racial comments leaving a ban the only responce. This country is trying to stop racism stone dead and Kenny is not helping by defending Suarez. He is doing a good job though in keeping this topic in the front line of media attention. I wonder sometimes how intelligent he is?
