Liverpool boosted by Maxi return

Friday 17 February 2012

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish could see the return of winger Maxi Rodriguez when the Reds take on Championship outfit Brighton in the fifth round of the FA Cup this weekend, liverpoolfc.tv reports.

The 31 year old last featured in the 2-1 win over Manchester United in the fourth round and has missed almost three weeks of action with a foot problem. Maxi received a call-up for the Argentina national side earlier this week and is now back in training and seemingly available. Dalglish is a fan of the Argentinian and has praised his performance and attitude already this season.

'Maxi is back training. He had a kick on his foot in training but he's fine now. He's back in the Argentina squad which is good for him', Dalglish said. The Liverpool boss also has young defenders Jack Robinson and Jon Flanagan in contention after their returns from injury.

The Liverpool manager continued: 'Everybody who is fit is in our thinking for Sunday, even Flanno and Jack Robbo. We have had to be careful with Flanno as he has had an injury but he is back in the frame.'
