Redknapp insists he will not leave Spurs before end of season

By Andy Brunning

Monday 20 February 2012

Harry Redknapp has insisted that he will not leave his Tottenham post before the end of the season, even if the FA select him to become the next England manager, reports The Telegraph.

Spurs’ Premier League season will finish on May 13th, whilst England’s Euro 2012 campaign will kick of against France on June 11th. This would leave Redknapp with very little time to select and tailor his squad, but he is adamant that the FA must respect the club duties of their chosen appointee.

“Whoever they go for, the chances are they’re going to be in a job,” Redknapp said. “It’s certainly difficult for people to suddenly walk out of their clubs at this stage of the year, so it would probably make it easier for everyone [if they waited]. I owe it to Tottenham to just keep concentrating on the end of the season, because there’s so much to play for here. I couldn’t be looking elsewhere at the moment. I’ve got to be here until the end of the season, whatever happens, that’s for sure. I’ve got to be right to the club.”
