Cristiano Ronaldo, speaking at his first Press conference this season, has insisted José Mourinho will still be at Real Madrid next term.

Do you think you can equal Messi’s 12 Champions League goals?
I don’t worry about others. I try to worry about myself and the team. We are playing well. Goals don’t tell me anything; if I score that’s good, but if not then it’s not a problem.

Do you think you have improved since you came to Madrid?
Here, competing with the best you always improve. I am very happy with the players and the Coach; for me it is incredible and I always learn something. I want to stay here year after year.

Who is more important: you or Mourinho?
Real Madrid. The institution is the important thing.

Do you feel more respected now than when you arrived?
I don’t know. I have my faults and my virtues. I try to improve. Do I feel loved? Maybe. I’m not going to lie. In the last few months there have been some songs and I feel happy because it’s something new; I feel very much wanted. The main thing is for the fans to feel love for the team because when the atmosphere is good we feel it on the pitch and try to enjoy it, to play better. I ask the supporters to carry on like this, singing songs, not only for me but the rest of the players, because if we are all together then we will win something.

Will Mourinho stay [at the club]?
He will stay (with Mourinho sat beside him).

In the first leg [against CSKA Moscow] you were heard swearing. What did you say?
I don’t remember.

Berlusconi says he dreams of you. What do you think of the Italian League?
If it’s a dream I respect that but I am happy in Madrid and want to stay here. The Italian League is not one I like better, but I respect it. In the future you never know, but I’m happy here.

Can a Russian team win the Champions League?
Why not? They are strong and difficult to beat. It’s possible, but not this year because we also want to win it.

Are you concerned the referees will not let you win the Champions League?
I don’t want to speak about referees, Barcelona or mission impossible...The important thing is the game. If we win we continue in the competition: if we lose we go home. We hope to win.

Do you see Madrid and Barca as favourites for the Champions League?
It’s one of many things. We can’t think of the future, only CSKA. They are a good team and will be dangerous.

What do you think of Messi’s five goals?
I’m happy for him and for football. I don’t know if I am capable of doing it. We’ll see if I can score five one day. I hope so.

Would you like to play against Benfica?
That would be very good, but the players and supporters are excited about Wednesday’s game. After that we’ll see.

What’s your aim?
I can’t promise anything. I’m doing well but the main thing is my teammates. The team must come first. Individual objectives follow on from that. There is still a long way to go until the end of the season; I want us to carry on as we are. If we do that we will win something and I’m confident we’ll do that.

Do you want revenge [after the first leg against CSKA]?
That word does not exist in football because this is a game you should enjoy. I was annoyed because we had almost won the match and drew. It was a feeling of frustration.

Can CSKA beat you?
Anything is possible but at home we are strong and will fight all the way in this competition, whilst also respecting CSKA. We will try to win.

You seem more relaxed...
Maybe. That’s what the fans think but I think I’m the same as last year. It’s possible some things have improved but I am in football to improve.

Is this your best season?
I’ll be able to answer that better at the end of it. I still have a lot to do.

Are you aiming to break all records?
It doesn’t affect me. Sure, it makes me happy, but I’m not obsessed with it because things will happen naturally. When you think about something too much it never happens.

La Liga or the Champions League?
We are looking to win La Liga and the Champions League. But we must keep our feet on the floor.

What is your dream?
To win every title that Madrid plays for.
