Brian Laws worried for Wolves

Wednesday 11 April 2012

Former Burnley manager Brian Laws is worried about Wolves’ survival chances as the fight for relegation enters its final stages. After their narrow survival last season, the Molineux club have been in trouble again this season and sit bottom of the table.

Laws moved to Turf Moor in the second half of the 2010/11 season after Owen Coyle’s departure to Bolton. The former Sheffield Wednesday boss was unable to stop the Clarets from relegation to the Championship and found himself in a precarious position just like Terry Connor at Wolves. Laws is worried about the state of Wolves and although they still have the chance to catch the teams above them, it will be a difficult task for Connor to keep morale and belief in the squad.

“The worrying team, for me, is Wolves. You have to ensure morale and belief remains present, team spirit, and you have to try and stamp out any cliques because that spills out onto the pitch as we have seen with Wolves just recently. They have lost their leader and they have lost their focus, and they are now fighting between each other. That is a recipe for disaster”, Laws said.

The 51 year old believes that the battle will go down to the wire and Laws has predicted Bolton to get away from the relegation scrap, due to the unity of their squad following Fabrice Muamba’s unfortunate illness.
