Friday 13 April 2012

Yossi Benayoun has admitted he may be a Chelsea player next season after his loan spell with the Blues’ Premier League rivals Arsenal ends at the end of the season, revealing he still has a place in his heart for the Stamford Bridge side, the Daily Mail has reported.

The 31-year-old is quoted as saying: “I am fully committed to Arsenal and after that we will see. I will not lie. I love Chelsea because I have a good relationship there… [but] I am 100% committed to Arsenal.

Benayoun joined the Gunners on a season-long loan in the summer transfer window, moving across London to the Emirates Stadium on transfer deadline day in August. In his time under Arsene Wenger Benayoun, who turns 32 in May, has made 21 appearances, scoring four goals, including against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday evening.

Benayoun originally joined Chelsea from Liverpool in summer 2010, having spent three years on Merseyside following a move from a third capital club, West Ham United. Benayoun had two years with the Hammers after moving from La Liga outfit Racing Santander, who first brought the Israeli from his native country.
