Dalglish criticises Liverpool attitude after Fulham defeat

Wednesday 02 May 2012

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has criticised the attitude of his players after the Reds slipped to a 1-0 home defeat against Fulham just days before they play the FA Cup final against Chelsea, the BBC has reported.

A Martin Skrtel own goal early in the match was enough to settle the fixture and give the visitors only a fourth away win of the season. For Liverpool, it was the fourth time they have lost at Anfield in the league this season, with nine home games also drawn. The BBC also notes that the result leaves Liverpool with only three wins from their last 13 Premier League outings.

Dalglish made a host of changes from the side that defeated Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday but could still call on the likes of Skrtel, Dirk Kuyt and Andy Carroll, and the manager said that while he wanted to give as many players as possible the chance to impress before Saturday’s cup final, he was distinctly unimpressed with what he saw. He added: “I thought it would be fair to everybody to give them an opportunity to get some minutes on the pitch with a game coming up on Saturday that’s important to the club, to try and put their case forward. But the performance and the attitude was very poor and that’s not like us.
